In December 2015, Land Rover assembled a very special vehicle at its famous Solihull plant – the 2,000,000th Series and Defender model. Built to honor nearly seven decades of continuous British 4×4 production, this unique short-wheelbase Defender 90 was assembled with help from brand ambassadors and special guests, including adventurer Bear Grylls.
Finished in an elegant Indus Silver body with contrasting Santorini Black roof, wheel arches, and grille, the vehicle features bespoke touches, including an engraved map of Red Wharf Bay (where the original design was first drawn in the sand) on the aluminum fender, as well as unique ‘S90 HUE’ badging. It was later auctioned for charity, setting a world record price for a production Defender.
